Managing Stress & Preventing Burnout

Life has been lifing lately and I have definitely felt the stress of it all. From so many changes and demands from my full-time job, working a part-time job, managing a business and being a caregiver it can get overwhelming. Sometimes we get so fixated on caring for others and going through the motions of everyday, that we forget to care for the person that should be the most important…….that is ourselves.

When we endure chronic stress for long periods of time it can lead to burnout and once you’re in the burnout stage, it takes time to recover. The key to preventing burnout is managing your stress. It sounds easier said than done, but trust me, it can be done. I know you’re wondering how and I’m here to help you with that!

1. Keep a positive attitude.

2. Accept that there are some things that you cannot control.

3. Be assertive instead of aggressive. Assert your feelings, opinions, or beliefs instead of     being angry, defensive or passive.4. Learn to manage your time better.

5. Set boundaries. It’s ok to say no and rest in your no.

6. Make time for hobbies and interest.7. PRACTICE SELF-CARE


Remember that you are your number one priority. You cannot pour from an empty vessel. Always rest, reset and the refocus,
